On July 16, 2013 the Odessa Regional Council deputy Yuri Dimchoglo made an official visit to Greece, Thessaloniki in cooperation with the leadership of Gagauzia in Moldova. During a meeting with the governor of the Greek region of Macedonia, Yuri Dimchoglo delivered a welcome speech and also exchanged gifts with the governor Apostolos Tsitsikostas.
The next day, July 17, Yuri Dimchoglo in the delegation visited the holy land for all Orthodox – Athos, where he studied the attitudes and way of life of several monasteries of the peninsula, and also participated in a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Diocese of Athos.
